Luftgitarre is just one of the latest project firmed by “the kinetic scientist” Bjoern Schuelke. It’ s an interactive solar panel installation able to simulate, responding to the visitors movement, sounds like bass, contrabass and violin.

Schuelke’s Luftguitarre series sculptures are human in scale and resemble musical stringed instruments such as the banjo, violin and contrabass. Floating mid-air, the effortless rotation of these sculptures conjures a familiar echo of explosive chords ringing in a live concert. The simple auditory experience delivered by these objects contrasts with their visual complexity. Activated by the approach of visitors, a minimal pluck of a singular steel cord results from Schuelke’s elaborate and delicate construction of solar panels, wood, a motion sensor and propeller.

Phlow-Magazine published the past 23 Apr 2009 an exclusive interview with Sebastian Redenz, the Thinner Netlabel main  curator. He declared close the project Autoplate, the experimental subdivision of Thinner. A sad news for many of us!

Constant dripping wears away the stone. Even if grandma wasn’t right about everything she said, popular lore sometimes does have a point. Tenaciously and valiantly we therefore continue to oppose the die-hard pigheads’ favourite fairy-tale about netaudio being music by amateurs with our credo that the best things actually are free.

In order to make sure that apart from stone even marble and iron will break, our iD. allstars mount the diamond drum’n'bass drill-head and rev up their engines. That instead of brute force, an iD.EOLOGY compilation rather works with varied amounts of pressure and a lot of fine-tuning, really does go without saying. While Elliptic is a bit of a hatchet man, Kosmonaut is in charge of playful embellishments and Zengineers readily supply the final polishing touches. And though Sudio and Backwater Planet like to go about energetic and staccato-wise there, Dual Perception and Phour Trakk prefer to do their work in long and steady moves here.

Ak47 is the identification mark of the machine gun designed in 1947 by Mikhail Kalašnikov.

The choice of this name is provocative, strong and incisive. We appreciate the synthesis and efficacy of the object, taking our distance from the purpose for which it was created, but recognising its value as a design.The creative artists at Ak47 propose products that are docile, innovative, efficacious and efficient.

Hence the intuition of Ak47: to develop designs that shun the obvious, venturing into questions that are still unexplored. The aim is to qualify simple objects; to enhance them and characterise them with the quest for a particular process, the innovative use of materials, the care for details. This is the only way to escape the bonds of fleeting fashion and achieve lasting elegance.


Man is the focal point of the Ak47 design themes.
Man as a symbol of imperfection, of natural evolution, of uniqueness that is able to add value to the eyes of the attentive observer.
Here we propose industrialised craftsmanship. Strong single identities which, combined with effective serial
features, are represented in Ak47 products.

The search for detail not only in the end product but in all its processes: from the drawing board to production and packaging.

The choice of firewood holders, the first theme in the project, was not made at random.  We wished to extend our range as much as possible, offering an infinite series of possibilities. Our proposals aim to amaze with unexpected details, almost hidden at first glance.

The products are also modular: their packaging has been designed to optimise space during storage and transport. The “reduced” packaging decreases transport costs and protects the environment, while maintaining the high quality of the service offered.


The challenge of Ak47 is to discover this equilibrium, to express a language that is able to associate innovation, proportion, originality and usefulness.

Here it is the new release from littlebus, with a new main character: The Noisemaker, coming from the city of Treviso, Italy.
Our little friend had created four pieces of industrial landscapes, teleporting ourselves to those deserted factories in which we couldn’t stop dancing to these kind of sounds.
This obscure release is musically completed with four remixes of Tecnii, Nano, Fase Miusic Sender and Modes that couldn’t fail to rise to the same level, and with a cover art, very hard, made by a great friend of the house Nerf.
