Having the Andes mountains as natural reverberation device it’s no surprise that Alisu (= girl) and Rolancho (= boy) spend a good deal of time to blend ravine-deep textures with intense rhythms - playing hide and seek somewhere in the grey urban area between minimal techno and glitchy experimentalism.
Get caught by the beat, take a breath and back-pedal its meaning in your own neuro patterns, get caught again, and so on and so forth.
The concept of Manzping’s first EP for Yuki Yaki - after numerous releases and compilations for Chilean netlabels - is a refreshing dive into a sea of blue hypnosis, a splendid ride between captivating beat pulses, sparkling electric discharges and floating ambient carpets. This is a taste of South America that will wipe off even the most flagrant omen of winter depressions in these days.

LPM 2009 | Live Performers Meeting

From 28th to 31st of May 2009, at Brancaleone in Rome, will take place the seventh edition of LPM - Live Performers Meeting: International encounter of live video performers, visual artists and vj meeting, dedicated to live video performances.

The Rome 2008 edition, followed in September by a special mexican edition, registered the partecipation of 257 artists from: Algeria, Argentina, Austria, France, Germany, Japan, Guatemala, UK, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Hungary. 142 shows and performances gave life to the 900 square meters of the Macello IV - Mattatoio di Testaccio, setup during the four days with 13 beamers and screens.

LPM will again use its 4-day formula, creating a unique and unforgettable event, which every year grants a program full of workshops and showcases of projects, softwares and brand-new products.

LPM is not a festival, it is an opportunity of meeting to get a glimpse of what visual-artists are creating or, even better, what they could create. Therefore, and in order to allow the many interesting artists to perform, the maximum length of a performance is 30 minutes.

Univers Revolved

Unlike the letters of our standard alphabet, those of Univers Revolved are bilaterally symmetrical and may therefore be read in both left-to-right and right-to-left directions. And because they are three-dimensional, they can be stacked, arranged in circles, or set in motion; they can become toys, pieces of furniture, buildings, or chocolate candies.

To form the letters of Univers Revolved, a simple geometric formula was applied to the capital letters of the widely used Univers font. With the help of a 3-D computer program, each letter was revolved 360° around a vertical axis drawn at its left-most point.

The revolved letters create a new alphabet that recaptures the element of experimentation the Latin alphabet held in its early days. Encountering it for the first time, we re-experience the excitement of learning to form words from letters as children.

I’ ve already found this crazy modular house browsing hitspaper, one of my preferred japanese blog. Is difficult to have informations about this product but for sure Paco is an “House Cube” produced in Japan with all kind of services. Seems to be a modern camping instrument to enjoy your vacations, that should be confuded for an installation. I love the architectural minimalism, but this time is really extreme!

Electrica es una plataforma nacional e internacional  dedicada a la cultura electronica y audiovisual. Los artistas nacionales y internationales se daran turno una vez al mes, para dar vida a un ocasión única que incluye: aprendizaje, arte, música, diseño y tecnología.

Electrica is a national and international platform dedicated to the electronic and audiovisual culture. National and international artists they`ll give life to a unique event to promote a movement that includes: learning, art, music, technology and design.

Electrica ofrece tres dias al mes de inmersión total en actividades programadas que tendran como fin elevar el conocimiento de la cultura audiovisual en xalapa y acercarla a una escena internacional.

Electrica offers 3 days for month of total immersion in activity programs that will try to elevete the knowing of the audiovisual culture in xalapa riducing the distance with the another international cities.

Electrica tiene como fin desaparecer las barreras de acceso a la información artistica contemporanea pretendiendo ser un contenedor de todas la disciplinas electronicas dando impulso a artistas independientes locales, nacionales e internacionales.

Electrica aims to eliminate the barriers of access to contemporary artistic information pretending to be a container for all the electronic disciplines giving impetus to local, national and international independent artists.

Cuenta basicamente con dos plataformas distintas:

- Un escenario educativo: Formado por artistas, maestros, y expertos en el sector que dieron vida a una ocasión única de intercambio, búsqueda y demostración en vivo en el ambito del arte audiovisual: talleres, conferencias, demos y presentaciones impartidos por expertos del sector que acercan al público a las fronteras de nuevos medios.

Electrica is basically divided in two main branches:

- An Educational setting: made by artists, teachers, and experts in the sector, which give life to a unique opportunity to exchange research and live demonstration in the field of audiovisual art workshops, lectures, demos and presentations by leading experts shared the public sector closer to the frontiers of new media.

- Un escenario performativo: Performance audio/video, Dj/Vj Set e instalaciones serán realizados por numerosos artistas participantes, ofreciendo al público una prueba del trabajo propio, en una presentación continua de exhibiciones hechas en vivo.

Retrospektiv EP

[alw028] Ryko - Retrospektiv EP

Restrospektiv is the first solo EP from Ryko. The big talented Berlin Guy starts his way with the track “1984″ at the Himmelblau Pause Compilation at auflegware in 2008. With this track he became great attention from the netaudio scene. This EP reflect the last 2 years of his work and introduce his very harmonic sound affected by Deep- and TechHouse.

Just drift with the simply but hypnotic chords of “Gone” into the spring and also enjoy the remix of “Swimming Places” and the other tracks of the EP.
